MUFON – The Fayetteville Incident
Share |

On a relatively mild winter evening in the Fayetteville, NC and Cape Fear general area, January 8, 2007, a father and young adult son, both named Chris Bledsoe (Sr. and Jr.) and presented in the film as key eyewitnesses, say that they saw orange-ball UFOs (rather like the ING Direct Orange!), and translucent beings that seemed to look like glass toys. Three other local men saw the apparent craft:

Your investigation was wonderful but I feel you confused one point. Everything was credible but negated after the Lie Detector Test. The fact that he could not “remember” being abducted, when he was asked if he believed everything that happened that night, including the abduction, he answered ‘Yes’. His conscience was in conflict with the facts, he had stated that he had an internal conflict. The detector showed a ‘lie’, which was not really a ‘lie’ but an ‘I am not absolutely positive it all happened, especially the abduction, even though I heard me describe the event while I was under hypnosis. It is even hard for me to believe’. You need to ask how someone can cause their subconscious to ‘lie’. To negate all the evidence because of a lie detector is wrong. Would any MUFON investigator pass a lie detector test if they experienced an event such as this and weren’t sure if it was real or their imagination, even though they heard their own interview while under hypnosis and it is something MUFON has been trying to prove for years. Could it have really happened to them? I believe the info under hypnosis is more credible then the lie detector.

  2. i think he was pretty clearly telling the truth. polygraph lie detector tests are not admissible in court for a reason…they aren’t very accurate. especially when regarding events that could only be recalled through regression…he could very easily have doubts about what he saw himself say on the video. the “missing time” phenomenon is pretty standard in abduction cases…meaning that it is not caused because someone is forgetful or doesn’t have a grip on reality…it occurs because the abductors take measures to suppress memories of the events. the human mind is already wired to push overly traumatic events down to the subconscious. i believe this man’s testimony 100%.

  3. Why would someone fabricate a story that clearly causes both himself and his family such negative consequences? It has had disastrous effects in every facet of his being. His life will never be normal again and they will be fortunate if their marriage survives. Something traumatic clearly happened to him.

I saw this program too and after the gent failed the lie detector test one thing stood out in my mind. What mechanism / means of memory suppression / erasure are being utilized here – if in fact he is telling the truth and was acted upon by ‘external’ agents. Moreover, what neurological / neuro-psychological / neurochemical impacts would this have upon the man’s brain and how might those interact with the physiological stressors used to detect truthfulness. Just makes it ever clearer to me that after this test it is still just as difficult to determine whether or not he is telling the truth as to whether or not he has lied. Not to mention using a tool that relies on a straight forward means of truth telling. Conceals the truth/Reveals the truth. What about reveals the truth about something that is not believed by society to be true? Again how does that manifest physiologically. Conclusion – don’t bet the farm on the results, don’t lock the front gates on it either.
